BFGoodrich Tires are Unmatched as Kyle and the BC-2 Team Win the Baja Challenge Class
Mooresville, NC – The 48th SCORE International Baja 1000 went a bit better than last year as Detroit Speed’s Kyle Tucker and the BC-2 team fought tirelessly through the grueling Baja 1000 and came out as the winners of the Baja Challenge class. Last year some untimely bad luck caught up with them but the team made all the right moves at the right time that resulted in a great team win.
Kyle Tucker, Rich Minga, Bob Bower, Brad Lovell, Brian Finch and Bill Weber worked hard and came away with the victory, the first for Kyle and the BC-2 team since 2012. The BFGoodrich KO2 tires preformed so flawlessly the team finished the race with the same set of tires they started with!
For those of you who don’t know, the SCORE Baja 1000 is an off-road race that takes place on Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula in November of every year. The event includes various types of vehicle classes such as motorcycles, production vehicles, buggies, trucks, and custom fabricated race vehicles.
Not only did the BC-2 team capture victory but it was also the 40th anniversary for BFGoodrich as a major player in SCORE Baja racing. In addition to being the official tire of SCORE International for nearly four decades, BFGoodrich Tires has produced the tire of choice for 27 of the overall 4-wheel vehicle winners in the Bud Light SCORE Baja 1000, including 27 of the last 30 years that featured a record-run of 20 straight from 1986 through 2005. In total, BFGoodrich Tires has now been the tire of choice for the overall 4-wheel vehicle winner in 85 SCORE Baja races.
In this year’s race, they were the tire of choice for all of the top 10 overall 4-wheel vehicle finishers, nine in SCORE Trophy Truck and one in Trophy Truck Spec. BFGoodrich Tires also provides unmatched pit support for pre-registered racers using their tires with six full-service pit areas along the race course out of and back into Ensenada along with complete radio relay the entire 821.38 miles.
