Kyle Tucker Takes His Second Straight 2nd Place Finish at the Goodguys Pro Class Autocross in Fort Worth
Mooresville, NC – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=246Z4CbfzHU It wasn’t the start that everyone was looking for in Fort Worth on Friday with a steady stream of rain washing out the day and the autocross. The rain cleared Saturday and Sunday to provide a great two days of cars and autocrossing action at Texas Motor Speedway.
With thunderstorms Friday in Fort Worth, the event started a bit slower than everyone anticipated with a total washout for the autocross. That gave Kyle Tucker a little extra time on Friday to head over to Santos, TX to see current Detroit Speed customers, Mike & Janie Braswell, for a quick visit to chat and check out their cool car collection. It was definitely worth the trip.
As the rain cleared out early Saturday, a stream of cars flooded into the Texas Motor Speedway for a great show and some autocrossing action. Due to the washout on Friday and the late start Saturday, Goodguys ran the autocross until 7:00 PM Saturday night under the lights. As usual the autocross pits were packed and there were several DSE “Equipped” customers running and putting up great numbers. Kyle led the Pro Class for most of the day until the afternoon when he and DSE “Equipped” driver, Mike DuSold began to trade the lead back and forth. As the sun was going down Mike put in a fantastic lap that kept him in the lead for good. Congrats Mike on building an awesome car and for the Pro Class win!
Along with Mike winning the Pro Class we would also like to congratulate Terry Neuville in the Street Machine class, Lynda Jacobs in the Hot Rod class and Duke Roddy for winning the truck class.
The Detroit Speed hauler is now on the way back home after a few weeks out west. It will be a quick turnaround as Keith will load up Moe’s 1969 Charger and 1970 Chevelle on his way to Florida for filming of the show Competition Ready and the AutoGeek DetailFest March 19th-20th in Stuart, FL.
